Huawei expects to become the market leader in smartphones within five years

According to estimates International Data Corporation (IDC), in the first quarter of this year, worldwide 334.9 million "smart" mobile devices were delivered: it is only 0.2% compared to the same period of 2015. Market leaders are Samsung and Apple with 24.5% shares, respectively, and 15.3%. The demand for the South Korean smartphone giant on an annualized basis decreased by 0.6%, and the "apple" of the empire - by 16.3%.

Huawei is currently the third largest supplier in the world of smartphones, controlling 8.2% of the market. And the sale of devices that a Chinese company for the year jumped nearly 60%.

According to Richard Yu, demand growth in the smartphone segment provides primarily top-level devices. " If you want to become a leading supplier, you need to lead the high-end category ," - said the head of Huawei.

According to him, the company expects to break out in the leaders of the market over the next five years, surpassing the first two lines of Samsung and Apple. To help in this should be the new technology. In particular, Huawei plans to release a smartphone in the autumn with a view to a virtual reality system.
